Darryll Holland has taken out a licence to train from Harraton Court Stables in Newmarket, where he will be assisted by Kieren Fallon.
Holland, who partnered the likes of Falbrav and Double Trigger in a riding career that took him around the world, has been taking his training modules on and off over several years.
He already owns Harraton Court, which was built in the 1880s and from where 1905 Derby winner Cicero was trained.
“The process has being going on a long while. We were actually going to announce everything on Tuesday, but news travels fast in Newmarket!” said Holland. “I’ve been doing the training modules over a few years, riding permitting. I actually did the business course 12 years ago believe it or not.
“I’ve always had it in the back of my mind, but then I went out to Canada. I just thought the timing was right now and it’s a perfect transition. I own the stables, I have done since 2007 but I was leasing it out. I’ve taken it back on. If I didn’t own it, starting out the premises could have been a bit of a burden, but we won’t have that.
“It will be good fun, we can get some nice people in, owners and things like that – it will be enjoyable for everyone. We’re looking to start off with about 20 horses, but we have plenty of orders coming in so we’ll go to the sales. I think we’ll get full pretty quickly.
“It will be different working with Kieren for a change, we were rivals in the saddle but we’ve become good mates. We’ve got a wealth of knowledge that you can’t buy – 70 years between us. The pair of us have been around the world twice, ridden in most countries and if we can’t get a winner between us there’s something wrong.”
On jockey plans, Holland said: “Young Cieren [Fallon] will ride, but his first priority is Qatar Racing. When available he’ll get the leg up. So will Frankie [Dettori], we’ll put him on a quick one! He actually sent me a good luck message the other day. We’ll have a big launch on Tuesday, but we’ve got a website up and running with a bit more info on for everybody at harratoncourtstables.co.uk.”

As someone who worked in a NH stable yard and did my two's, the stable I worked in was immaculate the lads and lasses were a dedicated bunch who idolised their charges.
Good luck all.

Loyalty and Royalty issues
CONCERTISTA 340 Mares Hurdle.. Owner: Mr Simon Munir/Mr Isaac Souede / D Jacob Mayb I’m wrong but is Jacob not the retainer for the boys in green? I’d be massively pissed if I was him losing this top Cheltenham ride to a thrilled Paul Townend . Jacob took over last year from D Mullins winning the mares novice hurdle - £50k , ( 12L ) Granted ,obviously punters following will be happy Townend pilot’s - riding/winning on it the last two outings .

Fit first time The following trainers have the best win-to-run strike rates in March since 2016 with horses having their first run of the year.
Having won the Lincoln four times, most recently with Addeybb in 2018, William Haggas has a proven record at this time of the year and an excellent 47% strike rate (8-17) in recent seasons. He has had a couple of first-time-out winners already this month, including Mohaafeth, a Derby entry by Frankel, who looked a good prospect when winning at Lingfield. Besides top weight Johan in this year’s Lincoln, stablemates making their reappearance this weekend include Montatham in the Doncaster Mile (a race the trainer won with Graphic in 2014), Faylaq in the Magnolia Stakes and Al Zaraqaan in the Rosebery Handicap, the last two at Kempton.
Tom Dascombe has a similarly impressive strike rate of 46% (6/13). One of those winners is the useful handicapper Lincoln Park, a winner on his return at Southwell earlier this month.
Roger Varian’s strike of 43% (6/14) makes his first-time-out runners worth a second look, and in one race in particular. Varian has won three of the last four runnings of the listed Doncaster Mile with Belardo, Zabeel Prince and Sharja Bridge. He has Father of Jazz entered in the race this year, though he’s coming from a successful all-weather campaign having finished third in the Winter Derby last time. Varian relies on Ascension to give him his first win in the Lincoln.
Richard Hughes does well with his horses returning in March as a strike rate of 29% (9/31) shows. Along with the fact that the stable has had three winners from only 11 runners this month, that’s encouraging for the chances of Brentford Hope, one of the leading contenders for the Lincoln.
James Tate is another fast starter with a strike rate of 28% (5/18). His winners include Invincible Army who was the most recent winner of the listed Cammidge Trophy at Doncaster in 2019. Representing the same owner, Saeed Manana, Top Rank goes in the Doncaster Mile on Saturday when he’ll be bidding to win first time out for the fourth time in as many seasons. While Andrew Balding has had more first-time-out runners in March than those trainers already mentioned, his strike rate of 28% 11/40 holds up really well. Two of those winners, Good Birthday and Bangkok, were three-year-olds successful at Doncaster the last time the Lincoln meeting took place in 2019. Grove Ferry, who made a winning reappearance at Lingfield last month, would be a first Lincoln winner for Balding this year, but he has won the Doncaster Mile before, most recently with Tullius in 2015, and has Bounce The Blues making her reappearance in that contest this time.

Trainers in form A new chapter in John Gosden’s training career begins on Saturday when his son Thady joins him as the joint licence-holder at Clarehaven. The partnership is well placed to make a flying start on the turf if the stable’s form on the all-weather this month is anything to go by. Gosden has been operating at a run-to-form percentage of 87 and has had five winners in March, while Forest of Dean provided the stable with a third consecutive winner of the Winter Derby last month. Among the stable’s interesting winners in March were Mostahdaf, a half-brother to the Falmouth and Sun Chariot Stakes winner Nazeef, who was an easy winner on his debut at Newcastle, and Polling Day, a Godolphin Derby entry by Sea The Stars, who overcame inexperience to make a winning debut at Lingfield. Besides leading contenders for both the Lincoln (Haqeeqy) and the Magnolia Stakes (Global Giant) at Kempton, last month’s Saudi Cup winner Mishriff goes for another big prize in the Middle East in the Dubai Sheema Classic.
Richard Hannon (78%) has matched Gosden’s total of five winners in March, with the highlight being the return to form of Mums Tipple who put up a smart effort to win the listed Lady Wulfruna Stakes at Wolverhampton. That was only his second try beyond six furlongs, the other coming in the 2000 Guineas, and was his first success since his two-year-old days when a spectacular winner of a sales race at York. Hannon’s runners at Doncaster on Saturday include Ouzo and Man of The Night who give him two shots at winning the Lincoln for the first time, the latter having had a warm-up at Wolverhampton a fortnight ago.
A recent double at Wolverhampton took David Simcock’s tally of winners in March to five, with the stable operating at a run-to-form percentage of 78. One of those winners was Man of Riddles who made a winning debut at Wolverhampton in a novice event over a mile and a half. He’s sure to improve on that and has the pedigree to do so as a half-brother to Kentucky Derby winner Big Brown.
A busy month for Tony Carroll (77%) got off to an excellent start at Kempton where a hat-trick supplied three of the winners in Hollie Doyle's five-timer.
Marco Botti (75%) has had fewer runners, but both his winners this month are useful types, with Made In Italy, third in the Italian Oaks last year, readily winning a mile handicap at Newcastle and Habit Rouge winning his third race from six starts when successful over a mile and a quarter at Chelmsford. Botti’s big-race runner this weekend is Winter Derby runner-up Felix in the Dubai Turf.
George Boughey (73%) has had a particularly productive month with eight winners in March, four of those successes coming from the much-improved Khatm who has now won five of his last six starts. He has proved his versatility too, winning at three different tracks over distances from seven furlongs to a mile and a quarter. The trainer is represented in the Brocklesby at Doncaster by Forca Brasil, a half-brother to the useful Muker who won one of the first races for two-year-olds last season.

I find skybet tend to price up in the evening of the day before, sometimes bigger races already have prices.
The only issue is, bets placed before 9am on the day arent BOG, and extra places dont pay BOG! And so have found myself back at PP.
